I am back in New York City for three whole weeks this summer! I am incredibly privileged to participate in The Interfaith Center of New York’s Religious Worlds of New York summer program, sponsored by the National Endowment for the Humanities.
It’s a busy schedule full of visits to sacred sites and ceremonies, lots of reading and discussion with experts and teachers. As usual, I’m one of the youngest of the bunch and super nervous to spend this much time with religious experts but I hope it will make me a better teacher (and perhaps policy-maker) on the vital importance of teaching religious diversity in our public schools.
I’ll be updating you on some of the amazing things we are doing here at the program, as well as any side adventures I can squeeze in.
