In light of my attendance at Duke University this week for the Dimensions of the Middle East summer institute, I thought it would be nice to gather all my blog posts about the Middle East/Islam in one location. Most of the other PD I have done that incorporated the Middle East has been through the lens of Islam, this program certainly touches on it (I mean how can you not!), but I truly appreciate that they don’t allow the conversation to stop there. There is so much more to the Middle East than their (majority, but not singular) religious identity. I am looking forward to expanding my knowledge about the modern-day Middle East, I hope it’ll make me a better history teacher in the process!
