By Friday was was WIPED: 3 doctors appointments + By Friday was was WIPED: 3 doctors appointments + meetings + busy work week + toddler. 🏥 👩🏻‍🏫 🗓️ 🏃‍♂️ I still managed to fold a load of towels (we shy away from paper towels in the kitchen) & wash + hung out colors for Saturday morning folding. 🧺 🧼 🍽️ I also got a short but sweet nap on Friday afternoon too! 😴 •••

We involve William with pretty much every household task. Not because it makes it easier by any means but because we think it’s important for him to be involved and it’s fun to watch him pick up new skills. •••

Saturday morning we also went to @orlandosciencecenter & out to lunch at @reyesmezcaleria 🍊🌮🍹•••

Every Sunday after @oviedocatholic mass we go watch the turtles in the pond, this morning we had the alligator too! 🐢😮🐊 After mass we went out to the NEW @cfscoffee in Oviedo. ☕️ 🥯

(By the way, we don’t ever go out to eat this much. I was just absolutely wiped by the weekend and I knew I needed a little bit of a reset if I was going to make it into the next week.)•••

L I F E this week has been relatively easy with th L I F E this week has been relatively easy with the toddler mostly because he’s been on a weird nap schedule that has been causing him to take a nap at 3 or 4 PM and sleep until 5 or 6 & sometimes going through the night. 🛌 😴 💤 (This is NOT our preference, just how life has been happening lately). This means I’ve been able to get home from work and do a lot of maternity lesson plans in the afternoon (yes yes unpaid labor 👎). Note you are not required to do maternity lesson plans (it’s illegal to be forced to do them!) but I’m doing them for my long-term sub for #aparthistory because that class is super particular. 🖼️ 🏺🪬📝 The pregnancy has exhausted me this week so maybe it’s a good thing my toddler has been sleeping a lot. 🤰 🥱 #23weekspregnant #jisforjourney #2yearsold #bubbles

I feel like this photo sums up the week well: I’ I feel like this photo sums up the week well: I’m feeling a little battered and bruised. No big crazy medical changes 🤞 but just tired of all the extra doctors appointments, all the daily medical stuff (like the shots that cause these bruises), feeling worn out when I still have so many months to go. HOWEVER, I’m trying to make sure I leave a little room for humor too. ••• #itsoktonotlikepregnancy #jisforjourney #21weekspregnant #highriskpregnancy
1️⃣ @mcdonalds drive thru after a pre-natal ap 1️⃣ @mcdonalds drive thru after a pre-natal appointment. This is a guilty pleasure I enjoy during pregnancy. I don’t do it every appointment because then that would sometimes be multiple times a week. 🙈 P.S. no need to come at me with “this is the time to eat healthy.” 🍔 🍟
2️⃣ Finally getting a workout in! 🏋️‍♀️ A lot of my friends said recovery from the second pregnancy was harder because they weren’t as active. With William, I went for weekly miles-long hikes with @jbdickers + workouts. This time around it’s different. I’m still “active”, as a run around with a 2 year old, but I’m trying to be more targeted in the second half of pregnancy. 🧘‍♀️👟
3️⃣ 19 weeks! And we are ready to share baby’s name: Alessandro Carlos. Alessandro is the male version of our favorite girl name + Carlos is an accidental family name on my side (3 uncles + my abuelo) 🤰👶
4️⃣5️⃣6️⃣ Not much to say here except how cutie is this kid + such a lovely mess maker.

Hello! My name is Jessica & I am the content creator of J is for Journey; I started this blog way back in the fall of 2013 when I left to teach English Italy. And here I am, many years later, still blogging about travel, art history and religion – my three great passions in life. Now, with the birth of our son, I have added a fourth passion: motherhood. I hope you enjoy the journey!
