Pregnant belly + McDonalds + ultrasound 🤪Confused? 🍟🍔🤰ok so here’s the deal: every 6 weeks I see my high risk doctor who is 45 minutes away from both my work & house. Pregnancy: It’s not all about the bump pics!🤰I have a blood clotting disorder (who knew!?), meaning I clot too quickly. Because this can harm & prevent a fetus from growing, I have to do daily blood thinners & a baby aspirin. I make @thefuriosity give me my nighty shots because I can’t bring myself to do them. 💉🩹OH & they cost $100/month!!! ••• This is a part of my motherhood journey. I had to spend 24 hours peeing into that stupid cup to collect in a jug (it was a lot!). 💦🚽🥃 Because of my condition, my doctor is checking for high protein levels in my urine. Good news! ALL NORMAL. But the test will be repeated in a few weeks. “The future is in MY classroom!” @veryjane 🌎 💕 ••• Lately I’ve been incredibly inspired by many of my students for their interest in global current events, 🌎 their patience in listening to each other 🗣& ability to adapt in this crazy school year 🏫 ••• So I decided to send this email to all my parents: “I wanted to reach out to commend each and every one of you for all you have done to raise such wonderful teenagers; yes, I mean it! I cannot imagine how difficult it is to raise kids in this world. But you are doing an amazing job. I have been blown away by the students' resiliency, flexibility, perseverance, and historical curiosity this year. I have been teaching World History for 7 years and I do not think that I have ever had such a consistent bunch of students who are politically, socially, and globally minded.

The students have asked for opportunities for discussion and deep analysis with their peers to tackle the same basic questions humanity has always wrestled with. Each time, I am floored by their respect, openness, and willingness to learn from each other. Additionally, the connections they have made from the course content to our modern world demonstrate that they are way more mindful of contemporary events that I ever was in high school.

So, whatever you are doing at home - keep it up! If #2020 has taught me anything it is that I have much less control over my life than I could fathom. So this year, I adjusted my #2021goals accordingly:

1️⃣ Build proper storage in our garage &/or attic. 🏠
2️⃣ Travel outside the state of #florida at least once. 🧳
3️⃣ Drink at least 8 glasses of water a day. 💦
4️⃣ Spend an average less than $650/month on #groceries . 🥘
5️⃣ Write 2 #arthistory blog posts a month. 🏺
6️⃣ Keep my potted herbs alive (& maybeeee add more green things to my backyard). 🪴
7️⃣ Use my #slowcooker at least every other week. 👩🏻‍🍳
8️⃣ Go for a jog or long walk every week. 🏃‍♀️
9️⃣ Practice #yoga at least twice a month. 🧘‍♀️ @doyogawithme
🔟 #read at least 5 books classified as “classic literature.“ 📖
1️⃣1️⃣ Grow my emergency savings account to at least $5,000. 💰
