April 2025 UPDATE: Less than 100 days in to Trump’s second regime DOGE demolished the NEH, among many other wonderful organizations. Thereby cancelling MY summer program in DC. I hope I will be able to one day reverse this statement & we can bring back a healthy federal government. Until then I resist.
This was my fourth NEH Summer Institute, it was a one-week trip because we already had a lot going down this summer; however I definitely prefer longer NEH institutes. I was very interested in learn more about African American and Native American art because I have no background in that area from my degree yet there are some prominent pieces in the AP Art History curriculum. Toledo was definitely not my favorite city, but the museum was first rate and I got along with my roommates really well.
