Driving in Germany

So part of our trip was to the northern section of the Black Forest; somewhere we would definitely need a car. So we rented a small SUV for two days. I was not the person doing the rental logistics but from my perspective it wasn’t too bad.

My dad did not need a special license, his American one was fine, and we had no issues whatsoever at the shop. We did, however, study up on German road rules and traffic signs, that is a must! Even though they weren’t THAT different and mostly self-explanatory, you don’t want to get stuck onto road trying to figure out what you can and cannot do!

As all European cars go, this one was small. We had to play advanced-level Tetris to get all of our bags AND people in 🙂 but in the end we made it!
